Hey kids! Grab an adult or your family and make May Day baskets to give away. You pick the neighborhood, apartment complex or wherever you want so you can show God's love in a practical way.

Carnation Outreach  |  After Church
Yet another simple way to show God’s love in a practical way, this time to intentionally bless the mothers (or mothers-to-be) of our community. Pick up some flowers on your way out of church, go to Wal-Mart, Target, a gas station, a restaurant (or any place you choose!) and present a woman with this free gift. (NOTE: Men, be sure to take a female sidekick with you…it will be less creepy that way.)

Grocery Giveaway Outreach  |  10:00 AM – Noon
Throughout the weeks prior to this outreach, we will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items in order to make this grocery giveaway effective and impactful. So YOU can lend a hand in multiple ways - (1) Donate food items or (2) Go out with us on June 26 as we bless as many people as we can in various neighborhoods with a bag of groceries or (3) Do BOTH! Over the next six months, our desire is to encourage one other as our church becomes a people with a specific call and purpose to reach out to our community with the COMPASSIONATE HEART of JESUS!

Janie Sjogren (Steve’s wife) had an encouraging word for us when they were here in March, and I’d like to share this word with you…

“I know your church will be experiencing a "refreshing" in spirit as well as in the look and feel.  You guys have worked so hard and long, and are coming out of a very hard winter in many ways.  But Spring is coming!  Even as the dead-looking branches all over your area are beginning to show signs of life, against all odds, there is life waiting to burst forth in the people as well!”

Sandy & I feel it’s time for us as a church to take the outpouring of God’s presence that we’ve been experiencing, particularly through our amazing times of corporate worship, and take that presence out into our community. As we say around here…”God’s presence is for a purpose."

Beginning in April we hope to bring a concentrated effort over the next 6 months to go out into our city, bringing GOD’S COMPASSION in small practical ways. As Steve Sjogren says, “Small acts of compassion done with great love can change a community”. Below you will see the tentative schedule that is beginning to come together. We are encouraging all of our leaders to look at their calendar and begin thinking creatively on what passionate outreach idea God might be stirring for you. Pick out one of the upcoming Saturday sessions (see list below) and pull together the outreach details so others can join in.
