Church of Cedar Rapids
is a group of everyday, average people, living in and around Cedar Rapids,
Iowa. We hold to the basic beliefs of Christianity as given to us by God's Word
and by those men and women of faith who have gone before us. We believe our
highest calling is for each of us to do our very best in practicing the Kingdom
presence of God on a daily basis. We believe that being a follower of Jesus
Christ is more about listening and responding to the Holy Spirit than it is
about blindly going to church, adhering to a bunch of rigid rules and religious
regulations. We believe that God has more to say to each of us right now than
anyone else. The question then, is this: Are we listening? Are we responding?
Are we doing our very best to practice the Kingdom presence of God in our
everyday lives? In other words, are we experiencing God today?
We
believe it is in this day-to-day experiential journey with God, where we can
discover both an increase of joy and wonder, and an ever-increasing awareness
of who we truly are. It’s in the midst of this hunger and thirst for closer
relationship with God, where we find ourselves asking one another...
"Have you
experienced God today?"
