ONE NEIGHBORHOOD AT A TIME!

One of our primary prayer requests as we've moved forward in faith with our efforts in FLOOD 2008 RECOVERY is to have a BASE HOME in the flood-affected neighborhoods where we can set-up and house our recovery and outreach operations.

GOOD NEWS! OUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! Thanks to the generosity of Galen Kyes, we now have full use of a 2-story four-bedroom, two-bath duplex located at 408 B Ave NW in Cedar Rapids! This home was hit hard by the FLOODS of 2008 with water flooding the basement and first floor, but it has now been gutted, cleaned-up and stands ready to serve as a beacon of hope in this flood-devastated neighborhood of downtown Cedar Rapids. The house is strategically located in the 500-year flood plain, is across the street from the City of Cedar Rapids Fire Department Building, and is now up-n-running as our base of operation for Kingdom outreach in this strategic neighborhood.

As we go into fall, 2009, we will be organizing a number of neighborhood outreach events. The goal will be to meet our neighbors, find out their specific needs, and come alomg side them as the rebuilding of the neighborhood continues.
